Silvio Berlusconi – Italy
Each year I write a year-end review of the visions that have come good and those that I see for the next year.
Last year December (2010), I had in my list amongst other stuff, the fall of Mubarak, Gaddafi and Silvio Berlusconi, the Prime Minister of Italy.
Silvio Berlusconi with Muammar Gaddafi
I’m was in Rome last week, the papers were talking of his government’s imminent collapse. Interesting.
Italy is broke, they don’t want to spend any less, or reduce the number of state employees; or the free handouts, the EU is getting pissed off with them.
Italian debt is very dodgy, banks are scared Italy might be the next Greece, quite rightly so in my view. The Italians owe 1.7 trillion Euros. That’s a mountain of borrowed spaghetti. (sw)
Italian Real Estate: looks very dodgy long term.
