Iran SplatUpdate
Stuart Wilde - December 15th, 2004
A year before the Iraq war I said that if Iran had any sense they should mobilize and defend Iraq. Of course, Iran and Iraq fought a long and ugly war, so the chances of Iran helping Iraq were nil. I felt that after Iraq, Iran would be next to be attacked by the Americans.
The Washington Post reported a couple of days ago that Bush is calling on the New World Order to make pre-emptive strikes on countries it doesnt like. CNN have started to run long pieces on the phony Iranian threat. A bevy of Neo-Con* experts are being rolled out to explain why bombing Iran for the Israelis is a jolly good idea and a part of Americas overall safety. Iran doesnt pose a threat for America and the UN inspectors have confirmed that Iran doesnt have a nuclear strike capacityjust as they reported Saddam Hussein didnt have weapons of mass destruction.
I thought the Iran attack would be just after the US election but with Fallujah going so badly, one hundred and fifty American soldiers lost, it seems Iran has been postponed til next year. During the weekend of December 11th 12th, a news agency in China and several other foreign media sources reported a further seventy-eight US dead in four different locations in Iraq. CNN reported two losses one day and three the next. I dont think anyone will ever know the truth of what is really going on.
Here is a glitch in the Matrix. Over a week ago CNN reported that the Americans had captured Fallujah and that the town was now almost deserted. Yesterday they reported heavy bombing of Fallujah by American planes. Excuse me? Why are the Americans bombing Fallujah if it has been captured and it is almost deserted? Obviously the enemy fighters are still there and in control of parts of the town, if not all of it. I dont think CNN remembers what lies it has told from one week to the next.
Watch now for the American media to roll out William W. Cohen, Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, Douglas Feith, Elliot Abrams, and the usual gang of merry-makers. Feith told the Jerusalem Post that the attack on Iran could not be ruled out. Meaning, I suppose, it is definitely ruled in. Im sure that went down well with readers in Jerusalem. The only reason for America to attack Iran is to help Israel.
Propergating war is big business. But Iran is no pushover. Iranian missiles have a range of 1300 kilometers. It is said that they can easily hit American targets in and around Iraq. Iran is a large, mountainous country of 1,648,000 square kilometers, which is about the size of Germany, France, Italy and Spain combined. It would be simple for Iran to hide their missiles and plan a counter attack. They have had plenty of advance notice of American intentions. About four months ago the Times of London ran a full page on why America would attack Iran. So you dont have to be a rocket scientist to work it out. But if America does bomb Iran it will be disastrous. It will not only bring a new sophisticated enemy into the fray but also the suicide bombers that come as a part of the hatred created by the American bombing. Its all such a terrible shame.
Watching the American men and women being interviewed in Iraq is pitiful. They are brave in the face of death and so loyal. They believe in America and her president, yet they have no idea why they being sent to slaughter. They just follow orders. I feel for them, its a terrible thing and such a waste of fine people. I dont agree with the war but I feel for the troops in harms way, and it is awful for their families and relatives back home.
